You my want to call ahead and verify that they are open? Drove up only to find them closed due to renovations. Nothing posted on their website!
This is an incredible museum! My husband and I just happened to be driving south from Roseburg, OR, on interstate 5 and saw the sign for The Applegate Trail Museum. Not only are the displays and information amazingy well done, but we thoroughly enjoyed the personal narrations done by a 91 year old gentleman named Darrell whose great-grandparents rode the Applegate Trail as well as Betty (owner) who told us about Martha Leland Crowley who at age 16 died of typhoid fever. I highly recommend spending 1-2 hours in this wonderful museum.
Let's just start with amazing work the family did to start this museum back in 1998 this place should totally be in the Smithsonian institute I would recommend this to all an of all ages Phil was very informative an made the historic adventure a all time memory .
